Hi There ...
Qlguy24 , thanks for your reply and opinions. Very much appreciated.
Copenhagenboy... yes, it is a well kept secret, and probably just as well, as I suppose that neither Star or oneworld want to encourage this cross-alliance points earning. So... yes, you can also earn points flying on SK
in QFF as well. 100% of actual miles for Y-class and 125% for C class, but only for flights between Asia & Europe or within Europe/Scandinavia (aside from the well-known points ban on Norwegian domestic flts). I guess allowing flts. to the USA from CPH
would be too much for BA
/AA to tolerate. As for award flights on SK
(as I found out last week when I tried to book a reward flt. w/in Europe using QF
points...), you can only book award flights to/from Asia or within Scandinavia only.
As far as EB
offers in Australia are concerned, there is not much apparently, since they don't fly here (great pity). The only earning opportunities aside from other Star carriers here (i.e. SQ
/TG/NZ/UA/AC/OS) are a very small number of Radisson hotels. No credit card points or other brand hotel/car rental points. Still, this doesn't concern me too much, as I have all of this kind of thing with QF
, and I mainly want the EB
points to use for upgrades on future SK
flights to Europe. SK
are very active in Australia, marketing very competitive Y-Extra and C-class fares to Europe ex SIN
), Japan">NRT or USA.
By the way, have you got any experience with SK
's Y-Extra? Is it much better comfort-wise than ordinary Y class?
Thanks once again, and best regards.
