It would be a little of a hike - from your gate in terminal C to your gate terminal A or vice versa.
There is no tram - but - there is a way to ride a free bus that isn't intended for transfers between to two.
From Terminal C to Terminal A - go to the lower baggage level of terminal C, catch the park and ride bus for park and ride lot 4. This bus will loop to terminal A before heading to the parking lot.
From Terminal A to Terminal C - go outside the baggage area of Terminal A and catch the park and ride bus for park and ride lot 3. This will loop to terminal C before going to that lot.
Now if you just want to walk it - it's not that far really, and, most likely faster just to walk, there is a people mover sidewalk between the buildings. Exit terminal C on the ticket counter level and start walking towards the parking garage in front of you, you'll see it. From terminal A the people mover is near the US Airways ticket counter.
Remember to allow plenty of time, as you'll have to go though security in either direction you travel.
what is your itinerary? Just interested - cathing the 4 hour CRJ to DEN
Now that i think about it, the walk isn't that bad - 20 mis or so - gate to gate.
Security lines at terminal C usually move pretty fast. Security lines at terminal A can be long or short - just depends. I would think you would be ok with a 1.5 hours layover - could be done in much shorter if all goes well, say a 30-45 min layover.
