While our service is not up to par with AA
, we are also not trying to be up to par with them either. We implented these routes mainly because of the high fares charged by the big 3. We saw a big market for low cost service between 2 major business centers and it is doing very well. We've added the 2 red eyes out of LAX
. Everytime I've checked them, they were all full. The IAD
route is doing fairly well too, but I did read it was being dropped to one departure from two. This is probably due more to our lack of aircraft, then to low load factors.
I haven't heard any complaints about our service on long flights. Since we started the buy on board again, most people were very happy to have at least the option to buy food, though a lot said they could care less....they just bring their own anyway. Quite honestly the biggest complainers are the frequent business travelers who are spoiled by flying first class all time on the legacy carriers. Alot of companies have switched to low fare airlines, including HP
, etc. and I wouldn't call their service bad...it's simply different. It's more of a response to their displeasure of having to switch to LCC's.
