Hoax bomb alert on Olympic airline carrier delays departure from Cairo‏
‏‏
‏ CAIRO, July 18 (KUNA) -- A hoax bomb alert on an Olympic airlines carrier ‏
‏headed to Athens Sunday resulted in delaying its departure from Cairo airport ‏
‏for more than three hours during which the plane, passengers and luggage were ‏
‏re-searched.‏
‏ Security director at Cairo airport told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that ‏
‏"airport security received a phone call in which an anonymous person claimed ‏
‏there was a bomb on the Olympic airlines carrier five minutes before it was ‏
‏scheduled to take off."‏
‏ He noted that the plane's captain was notified and the plane was towed far ‏
‏away from the airport passenger halls, following which the plane and its 96 ‏
‏passengers were searched. No bomb was found.‏
‏ This is the second hoax call this week, the first being for a Sudanese ‏
‏airplane.
