N775UA Still Only 777 In New UA Livery?

Mon Jul 19, 2004 2:06 pm

After an extensive photo search, it appears that there have been no additional United 777s painted in new livery, since N775UA was done in February. Have there been any aircraft to undergo maintenace c-checks since that time? It's a little sad to see a new livery unveiled and not applied. America West was the worst not changing their image in the form of livery.

Seeing how UA dont have two dollar bill's to rub together they will not be painting anything unless its due for new paint.

Well, it seems N775UA is still the only one. What puzzles me is that many 777s are due for D-checks (age average 6 years, UAs 777s are mostly between 4 and 9 years old), and most aircraft are repainted on that occasion.

Glad to keep the current UA livery alive longer!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

jmc1975: HP was awful at applying their new livery! I have a copy of the inflight magazine from April 1996 with a photo of their new livery on the cover. The article inside said they hoped to have the entire fleet painted by the end of 1997. Well, in July 1999, about half the fleet still had yet to receive the new image from what I saw at PHX.
On the other hand, CO was the best and timeliest with painting their a/c, while they were in BK!

N775UA still remains the only 777 in the new livery....currently no 767s, 735s, or 744s are in the new colors.....excluding the Star Alliance B763ER....I really want to see more of this livery, especially on the bigger jets Big thumbs up

here we go with the new livery debate again...past threads have talked about how planes get repainted regularly during certain maintenance checks - whether its the existing livery or a new one - so expect a comparable schedule for how often UA planes will have the new colors on them. also, the costs associated with UA's new livery and branding are appropriate for the purpose of the airline making an effort to refresh its image in the market.

Yep, but I saw a bunch of 757s in the new colors at LAX and they look wonderful.

Not much painting goes on during the busy summer season...need the planes out flying...believe the only painting going on at this time are TED aircraft.
