Rumour: BBD Has Learjet & De Havilland Up For Sale

Mon Jul 19, 2004 11:15 pm

The Montreal Gazette article outlines rumours and speculation from various sources that Bombardier Aerospace is looking for a buyer for the Learjet plant and that 4 prospective buyers have already toured the plant. Two names being mentioned are Cerberus and Honda (Honda speculation has existed for over a year now.) The article then goes on to say the the de Havilland plant in Toronto is also on the block. If both happen that would leave BBD with RJ and larger biz jet assembly in Montreal, and fuselage and composite manufacturing in Belfast.

Interesting. It appears everything they are doing is to forge ahead on the NCAP---including divesting itself of marginal and/or losing interests...
