The A340 looks terrific, the 7E7 also looks great. I'd imagine that any aircraft would look beautiful in El Al colors.

I totally agree with you Amirs. The current El Al livery is one of the greatest in the world today. The previous one was alright, but this is great with the Israeli flag on the tail and the streams down the fuselage. Just great to see it.

Was it Seagle and Grey?
If no one knows i will try to find out during the week.

Very classy livery.

Agreed. that the livery would look good on any aircraft.

Personally, I'd love to see it on an L1011.  Smile

I love the El AL design. I'm a huge proponent of less is more, with the exception of the new Boeing colors I hate junked up and 'busy' designes.

Once again, plugging of MAP photos in CivAv. I fear I cannot click on a thread that says "livery" without coming across MAP-image plugging. This makes Av Photography look like paradise...

Some one here needs to lighten up Big grin

I think the livery was done by Boeing affiliated image consultants, the idea od aircraft manufacturers suggesting livery changes just so their planes can look good is disgusting to me.

Airmale:

Why not? After all manufacturers of many other products do that,so why should it be different in a/c business?

I've always been quite partial to the El Al livery. One of my favorite models in my collection is my 1:400 scale Gemini Jets El Al 744.
Those enhanced photos look great, in my opinion. The DC 10 rendition reminded me of the L1011-600 designs that were shown long ago. Does anyone recall the URL and who was responsible for those designs?

I think that the new colors are too simple, just to much white. I liked the Old colors much more....

I agree EL AL has a very attractive livery. Its the way the blue sweeps up from underneath and the curvy national flag on the tails. If they flew YYZ to FCO I would purposely hire them to take me to Italy.

Its very heart warming (as an Israeli and ex- El Al employee) to hear so many positive post on EL AL. Finally we have done something right.
BTW Njoizflyin - I think you would enjoy the service (especially in Platinum) even more than the livery.  Smile
On that same site (modified airline photos) you can find nice 7E7 and 777 with the OLD livery - Just as impressive.

EL AL livery at this time is simple, clean, distinctive. Yet, with the extensive use of white and until you see the tail, hard to tell if from other airlines, which may be good considering that El Al is such a target.

El Al's new livery is stunning - very effective indeed, and looks great on all the aircraft I've seen it on. Shows that less can be more, and that you don't have to visually concuss people to have an impact.

This 340 look gorgeous!
I like ElAl paint, very elegant, although I agree maybe a little more color and less white will be fine... but I think it's much better than the old one.
I undersood ElAl livery was made by the same British company that made the new colors of NZ, BA and LA. Can anybody confirm?

Anyway, talking of biased, IMO this is the best 7E7 projected so far (enjoy):

Every Landing Always Late has a nice livery, definetly on top of the liveries that there are in the world.

It's a question of taste....but to me the previous livery was absolutely beautiful.....! The colors were striking and the design very elegant on each Boeing model in the El Al fleet. The planes, even if somewhat dirty...looked great and impressive in these colors.

The new livery looks "cheap" and would better fit a charter airline. The blue line has really nothing special, and the "silver" is a kind of invisible and sad grey; the name El Al in Hebrew is therefore almost not readable on the planes, especially on the photos...; because of this, it was decided to add some blue around the Hebrew caracters...
And the worst with this livery is that the color has been painted differently on the same planes......(look at 744 4X-ELB for instance...).
And also, the scale of the star is totally different on the various models: it looks big on the 767s and ridiculously small on the 744s.
I bitterly miss the livery that should never have been changed (repetition...)

The blue line on the fuselage and on the tail is not identical on both planes; and the El Al titles in Hebrew are barely visible......
