Boeing's CEO Hints At Something Surprising

Tue Jul 20, 2004 2:02 pm

Boeing's CEO Alan Mulally told USAtoday that "the 747 jumbo jet is in higher demand" and added that "some carriers have shown interest in a bigger version with more seats and a greater range"

The new poll on the front of the website should be "How many times will Boeing mention building a more advanced 747, put out images and press releases, then cancel the idea?"

Alan Mulally was the head of the 777 project for awhile, so he could possibly have something in mind. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of this.

Maybe, they will not commit past mistakes and put out something the airlines don't want. Maybe, this time, they will design the proposed variant according to the requirements of these airlines (who have asked for a larger 747 in the past) and it will enter production...and not get shelved like the others.
