Just read the article and I mus say, was never aware of this incident. It sounds dodgey as!! Shame on MH
. What a gross act of negligence with so many lives at risk. Mind you, SQ
has done some dodgey things as well re: the tail scrape incident at Auckland with inexperienced crew and the crash in Taipei from pilot error in taking off on the wrong runway.
I'm a medical practitioner and in medical practice, the amount of caution to prevent harm to EACH patient taken these days is rather extra-ordinary. When you fly hundreds of lives across the world, there is just no justification for practices like that. (re: the MH
incident), none whatsoever. I hope they sacked those responsible.
as for long haul economy: I think SQ
are still one of the best. CX
also consistently. I love BA
-both have improved by leaps and bounds and are comparable. The truth is that these airlines have all raised the bar against each other because the Kangaroo route is the most competitive long haul route in the world with the world's best carriers competing against each other. Whatever you do, don't fly any of the US carriers unless you don't care about inflight service at all.
