Drinking On Landing

Wed Jul 21, 2004 7:05 am

Just watched Airline on TV and saw people clutching their full drinks glasses during landing onboard a Britania flight !!!!
Having never flown charter is this normal ??? I'm used to being told to stow my tray table and secure any belongings.

Meh, i did that with BMIncompetent a few weeks ago. Got given my drink and sandwich 10 mins before landing and ultimately landed holding my drink in hand.

Couldn't believe it when i was half way through eating and they told us all to put our trays up, everyone just had bemused looks on their face. Certainly not the way to fly  Big grin

Thats normal! dont worry! I was working for a charter company. Our hospitality wouldn't have allowed us to force the passengers to drink!

So, we said in the kindest way: "Pls. fold up the tray table-NOW! finish your glas and dispose it in the air sickness-bags after landing!"

Thats all you could do...

I was once given a champagne glass during taxi for takeoff on AF. Married the day before and my dad had called the airline. Interesting holding it at an angle during climbout. And of course it was 7 in the morning. Not normally the time I drink champagne!

Well think about it here in the states you have all the people boarding clutching starbucks coffee cups or bottle of water, same difference only on take off.....
