Hi there,

Came across this pretty interesting image:

It seems kinda mental to have this door open at this height doesn't it?

What altitude would you say this was? Also how safe is this?

Cheers,

Justin  Big thumbs up

Doors are usually opened on parachuting/sky-diving flights.

"No sir, the toilet is over here! Sir? sir? Oh, he's gone. Captain, please amend the passenger list"

Somehow I think Mr SafetyDude may be right... at a guess, somewhere between 5000-7000ft.

Keep in mind AN-2s are very slow-flying aircraft.

It's perfectly safe as long as you don't step through it. It's like walking past an open hole.

"The recent LOT announcement that it was downgrading the current Krakow stopover on its Warsaw-Gdansk service to "on demand" is not expected to impact customer service".

I say the airplane is at 3,194ft. And that there 1,623 jellybeans in the jar. What do I win?

"... and if you don't like the way I fly the plane, there's the door!"

"I know where the First Officer is, he stepped out for a smoke!"

"I know the Captain has an open door policy, but this is ridiculous!"

"Who let the dogs out?"

cheers, Ralph

I'm pressuming that you think it looks hugh because of the clouds. However, it looks like a fairly low ceiling in the picture. I'm guessing they are not more than a few thousand feet up.
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!
