7/25 BA 69 LHR-PHL, Diverts To Gander

Mon Jul 26, 2004 7:44 am

the second of two daily PHL flights (this one, a 777) diverted to Gander (YQX) today, anyone know why?

EDIT: Maybe it didn't divert.... BA.com says it went to Gander and never to PHL, but flytecomm.com says it is due to arrive PHL @ 7:16.

Could be a medical situation....Gander is one of the first available airports after crossing the Atlantic.

Maybe they just wanted to glide into Gander. It has been known to happen before, although with a different a/c. Just kiddin'... Usually a mechanical or medical emergency - first airport after feet dry on this side of the pond.

I hope not also, but if there are threats, the planes need to divert, regardless of location.

are you mixing up Gander with Gimli??
Never heard of an "gliding" incident in Gander.
