Take the bus transfer to the FLL airport Tri Rail Station and then take the tri rail to the metro rail which takes you into miami. Or you can take the Broward County Bus from the airport to Aventura Mall and hop on Route 3 of the Miami Dade TRansit and that takes you into Miami and connecting to other routes

Last I was in FLL, I was told by Super Shuttle reservations that they DO NOT serve FLL airport  Sad

I am not trying to be cute, but probably the cheapest and most effecient solution would be to rent a car for the day.....car rentals in Florida are very well priced, and there is generally no charge to pick the car up in FLL and drop it at MIA or another location in the Miami/Miami Beach area. FLL is very conviently located - it borders the 95 which goes into downtown Miami.

The tri rail is VERY cheap and very easy. It also connects to the metro rail in Miami which can get you around fairly easily inside Miami itself.

I think the cost is somewhere around $5 from what I remember.

The METRO system in Miami SUCKS. It takes you everywhere that most people as in TOURISTS do need not need to use, even for residents it is very limited (I being one of them)

I do not recommend the METRO. It takes you to inner city dumps, downtown(which for tourists besides bayside and shopping on flager ave not much else), brickell (if you work in the financial district of Miami, like myself it works out), Hialeah (mmm another dump), one good tourist spot in the METRO system is the last stop(s)- Dadeland North and South to do shopping at the mega mall of Dadeland.

YOUR BEST BET = RENT A CAR, AS POSTED BEFORE FAIRLY CHEAP AND YOU CAN DROP IT OFF AT MIA.

PS. THE WEATHER IS GREAT DOWN HERE! VERY SUNNY AND 90 DEGREES

good point in renting a car. Most rent-a-car companies are very competitive (espically at FLL, where there are so many so close.). If you go that route, I'd try to pick Alamo as a visitor, as it is right on US 1, so you cannot get lost. I remember that we had used Hertz for years, but then they moved or something and I remember thinking to myself "where the hell are we going!"...nice new facility, though...and it actually is not too hard to get to...take US 1 to Old Griffin Road and go east then north and your there!

Take the Super Shuttle if you want to sit on a minibus for one and a half hours rumbling through slums.

If I were to do it again, I'd take the taxi for $35.

Tri Rail has hourly service. Know the schedule in advance so you dont get stuck on the platform for an hour.

---

Are you going to MIA or the city of Miami? If its MIA you want, please skip the hassle and take the taxi.

If you are unfamiliar with the environment in South Florida watch out! The fumes, the headaches, the traffic congestion, the unfamiliarity, the motion sickness are common things in So Fla that will make your life hell.

You will already be tired while in transit so please please please take the fastest, easiest methos there is, even if it costs a bit more.

I've taken the TriRail Commuter lots of times. It links all three South Florida airports. It's convenient, cheap, and reliable.

Your best (and cheapest) bet is to go with Tri-Rail or SuperShuttle (if as was said above, they even serve FLL), I've never taken the SuperShuttle myself but sometimes on Sundays if there's nothing to do I go out and take the Tri-Rail from the Miami Airport Station to Magnolia Park, at the end of the line, just for fun. It's comfortable, and the cars are double deckers,  Big grin so you get great views of I-95 (the train tracks run parallel to it) and other scenery around the tracks. The cars come equipped with restrooms and a ticket on Tri-Rail doesn't cost much, especially on weekends when prices go down. From Miami Airport just take a five minute city bus ride to the MIA terminal. I have to agree with MIASkies about the rest of the public transit system; AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. Hialeah isn't really that much of a dump though, at least on the northern and western outskirts, where I live, and they have their own city buses. A taxi would be best, though, but it can get expensive.

SuperShuttle does NOT serve FLL. The equivalent to SuperShuttle is Tri-County Airport Express. Their web site is http://www.floridalimo.com. The reason SuperShuttle doesn't serve FLL is more to do with Broward County politics more than anything. Fares to Miami are about $15 if you're going downtown or the cruise ship terminal, or a little more if you're going south of downtown Miami to Coral Gables or Coconut Grove.

Tri-Rail will only cost around $4, but the train only runs every two hours (although they are working on this). You can look at schedules and fares at http://www.tri-rail.org. Also, you must carry your own luggage. A taxi is faster, but it will set you back $65 to downtown Miami.

If you happen to be taking a cruise from the Port of Miami, the cruise line you are using will sell you a transfer directly from FLL to the ship for around $20. You will probably need to call the cruise line and make reservations for this.

Not true on the Tri-Rail:
trains operate at (from FLL station)
SOUTH: 5:35am, 6:55am, 7:55am, 8:55am, 9:55am, 10:55am, 11:55am...then break for about 3 hours until: 3:11pm and hourly until 9:11pm...that was weekday. Weekend is another story. Its not even worth posting, its so bad!
