Ever Heard A Old Black Box After It Was In A Crash

Mon Feb 21, 2000 2:45 pm

This was quite a long time ago when I found this site and it had all the BLACK BOX recordings from older crashes.

One was delta airlines: The pilot was talking to the FA about something that made her laugh.. they were all pretty happy than they were in Take-off just getting off the ground when BOom u even heard the people going ARHHAHRAHRAHHARHAR cause the plane was rolling over and u could hear the people etc..

PSA 727: A psa 727-200 that was in-flight when it ran into a Cessna 172 .. well the Cessna didnt make it and the 727 cought fire.. They were going down.. down .. down.. Pull up Pull up!! He said help me JOhnny or something and BOOM!M CRASSSH!H!!

Dc-9 VALUEJET: This one was really not clear so I dont remeber it.. It was a few words from Dc-9 than Static.. they were calling it. Flt.. bla bla bla .. can u hear me?
Static.. they sent out the REscue teams..

Does anyone know this site? or a site like this?
Cause I lost the site.. Has anyone else ever heard anything like this? Its pretty sad to hear peoples last words before they die.

It's pretty sad to want to hear people's last words like that. Show them some respect.

Unfortunately for Mish, I have to agree with Jtb - what kind of pleasure would you get from listening to people in pain?

What I would want to hear is not so much the actual voices of the crew, but the technical feedback that the box would report. I feel for the investigators who have to listen to the recordings again and again. An air crash would be great mystery reading if it were not for the human and a/c loss. Mish it's not "cool".

Geez, lay off the guy, he didnt say he loved to hear ppl die, he said its sad to. He may like listening to these tapes, but he's saying its sad to hear the ppl. I mean get real, it is interesting to hear what ppl have to say during an emergency, you can actually find out how a pilot/fa handles such situations, possibly learn from him/her if you are training to be a pilot/fa yourself. Its a shame he didnt come back to defend himself, probably said to hell with it if all these ppl are gonna gang up on me. Chill out!!

I agree that there is a curiosity about an incident, but only to know why or what happened. Somehow a thrill factor just doesn't apply here. Frantic last moments are for those who were on the plane and the investigators.

hey people -
give the guy a break - i found that listening to the cvr's and reading the cvr transcripts at www.airdisaster.com are actually impressive because of the amount of profesionalism and grace under fire exhibited by most of the crews when in the face of extreme danger...there's nothing disrespectful about it.

Where in the original post does it say there was a thrill factor? He just wanted to know the name of the site. All he said at the end was that it is sad to hear ppls last words. He never said he enjoyed it, why jump on him??

PEOPLE!

Lay off the poor guy. He/she probably had a family member in one of those crashes. There are victim's family members that are fighting in congress to have the actual recordings; instead of transcripts being played in hearings and maybe N.T.S.B website and aircraft crash related websites. You people need to chill out with the smear campaigne and help out. That's what real aircraft enthusiasts do in the time of need.

If all you want is to know what people said, then satisfy yourself with reading the transcripts. But if you want the morbid pleasure of actually listening to death taking place, then by all means, use your search engine and type like everybody else. Have I listened to some of these tapes. Yes. But I wouldn't advertise it like the way you did. You sounded excited, like a kid going to the movies. And by the way, the PSA crash was not the way you described. I don't recall a "Johnny, pull up!" There wasn't even a Johnny on the plane. They knew the plane was mortally wounded and going down. There were no commands given. The only thing dramatic the pilot said before impact, was

Mom, I love you!"

All.................

Anyone who wants to hear peoples last words just before they are going to loose all they have and there families are going to suffer for many years is sick!!! Think if you where a pilot and you tried your best to bring down your ship and for some reason you could not would you like some kid to here you last words while you tried every last thing. Mish 1234 is 5-15 which means he does not understand what happend and does not know how much this impacted people lives!!
I do not care if you think you are doing it for respect in my eyes you are SICK!!!!

Sure, there is something morbid in this, but is Mish1234 picking on your interests? Is he telling you all what to do and what not to do? Let him do whatever he thinks is interesting, and if you don't like it - let it the fuck be.

I got thrashed because I said what I thought about VA's in the hobby forum. They all told me not to read the posts if I didn't like them. And that was true. Why don't you do the same?

And who said he wanted to hear it to get a kick out of it? He might want to study their voices, their commands or whatever! How do you think real investigators learn?

Let him be, and let him do whatever he wants. If you don't like it - don't read it. I thought better of you guys.

By the way - Hmmmm... - thanks, you made me puke. I needed to.

He wants to know how to study air crashes? Give me a break. That's pathetic. Read his post. He deserves to get flamed. And if you don't like, too bad. And by including the f-word gratuitously in your post, because you are unable to control yourself when you get mad, you have guaranteed that your worthless two cents will be deleted.

P.S. You found the poignant last words of a pilot so disgusting that you puked?

Black Box Flaming

When I see a 5-15 year old Flight Sim. nut who worded the original post as he did, I don't think "investigator" or "family member", I think, "Reality impaired video game kid" who even if he had family involved, is too young to put those recordings in proper perspective. Am I wrong? I say again, it's sad to want to hear them and it's disrespectful. Leave those recordings to the victims, their families and the investigators. Read the original post again. Who would take time to type out screaming sounds. If he is a 5-15 year old student of crash science, then I apologize.

Mish- I apoligize for my remarks yesterday.....although personally I would not ever do that sort of activity, my attacking demeanor yesterday was not the appropriate way to make my point.

What I meant was that if Mish wants to listen to black boxes, let him. How does that affect you? Does it hurt you? Do you have anything at all to do with his interests? No... Sure, I think it's sick, or maybe even pathetic, that he wants to listen to it, but if he wants to...won't hurt me. Okay, he didn't have to write a message here, since there might be some poeple here who have lost someone in a crash, but then again - he's a "kid"... Let him be, that's all. You can't go thrashing everyone that does something you don't like...

Obviously, my f*ck-containing "worthless" post remains...maybe it wasn't so worthless... By the way - I can control myself when I get mad. That's why I ONLY wrote f*ck...

P.S No, I didn't find the last words disgusting. And no, I didn't puke. It was a figure of speech. The picture you added though...isn't that something like the stuff Mish is interested in? How come that you thrash him for being interested in these sort of things, and then YOU go around showing a picture of a plane with passengers going down to their certain death?

That picture happens to be a very well known photo circulated throughout the world. Every airplane buff is familiar with it. It even made it into Time magazine's '70s decade photo gallery. There is nothing offensive about it. He brought up that crash. He brought up the idea of last words. I then supplied a photo and part of the CVR transcript so that everyone who read the thread would know what we' were talking obout. That is what is called being a valuable contributor to the forum. I supply factual information and photographs wherever I can as visual aids. He's the one who is typing out screams like a moron, "Ahhhhgrrrrrrahhhhh, Johnny pull up!". And you criticize me for being offensive?

And you say you can control yourself and that's why you ONLY said the f-word? What would you have said otherwise? F-word x 20? And don't worry. When Johan gets around to pruning, he will remove your post.

First of all - I'm not criticizing you. I am for free speech. That's just what I'm trying to say - let everyone say whatever they like...okay, so Mish was a little...mindless. Some things aren't just supposed to be written. I totally agree with you that it was wrong, but all I wanted to say was that we should let him be...

By the way - I never saw that pic before... I think it's kinda disgusting seeing it... But hey - facts are facts and we have to face them...

Anyway - to finish off. I have nothing against you or anyone else... I don't wanna argue for such a stupid thing... Free speech for everyone!

Peace out!

Oh yeah! I forgot - what I'd say if I couldn't control myself... Let's put it this way - my vocabulary is pretty large when it gets to swearing... And trust me, my post won't get deleted just because I wrote fuck...there's been a lot of harder language in some posts, and they weren't deleted...

A large swearing vocabulary? Stop. You're scaring me. Have you nothing more to add to this discussion? I suppose not. Because if you had a better argument, you wouldn't need to rattle your sabre, a large vocabulary of swear words. What next? Are you going to take out your super soaker and squirt water at me? LOL. hehehe.

Want me to squirt water at you? Maybe you didn't understand it when I said that I didn't wanna fight...? So I'm just going to walk away...and let you say whatever you want.
