North American Airlines At DFW?

Tue Jul 27, 2004 8:43 am

I was cruising through flytecomm.com and noticed this. Is this some sort of charter to/from Shannon? I would think it would be cargo but I've never heard of North American Airlines having cargo service to DFW.

I do not think that North American has regular service, so my best guess is that it is a charter.

I noticed their aircraft sitting on the tarmac last week when I was at DFW. I didn't have time to ask, but I would imagine that it is some sort of charter or special cargo flight. I do know that North American does a lot of contract work with the government to bring soldiers back to the states for R&R from the operational theaters.

Hope this helps!  Big thumbs up

With a flight number like 7020 you can expect it to be something like a private charter or military flight. NAO's lowest flight numbers are Club Med charters, I've been on those many times! It really is "America's greatest little airline."

I saw a North American 767 at JFK T4 on July 1st, but I am not sure what it was doing there.

Will: North American calls JFK home.
They do fly some scheduled service to the Caribbean and South America out of JFK, but mostly all sorts of charters.

The B767 in DFW may have operated a MAC flight. ATA has been flying a lot of L-1011s into DFW lately for the same reason.

North American (along with ATA L-1011s, World DC-10 ETC), flies many of our AMC flights back from the mid-east via Shannon. (I've been on one myself to other bases) That is what this flight was troop charter. I love Shannon, especially flying Eastbound, drinking beer at 7am local  Smile

I didnt know they were apart of that as well that explains the 763ER's being here and all of our Tristars have visited Dallas recently for AMC flight. The Tristars are very busy right now.

Yeah, I've noticed that most of the AMC flights have been Tristars lately too. Maybe its the government's efforts to help Lockheed feel a little better.  Big thumbs up

Lt-AWACS,

I agree completely! I flew into Shannon on one of our E-6B's, similar to your E-3's, and loved every bit of the drunken atmosphere! Nothing like the smell of Irish whiskey in the morning!  Big thumbs up

Cheers!
