Two days ago, I booked my flights from YOW-YYC and return and I was supposed to be traveling alone. Somehow, one of my friends decided he also wanted to take a trip to the rockies and Calgary with me. Only problem is, fares have gone up quite a bit in only two days. Air Canada was dirt cheap when I booked them but they're now as expensive as Westjet or flying on the lime green smiling face. And 700$ round trip is just too much for his budget. So, would you guys have any suggestions? I thought about waiting for Conquest to lower their fares on YYZ-YYC but can I really count on that?
Secondly, this will be my first time visiting Alberta! Any must see (apart from Lake Louise, Banff, etc.)? Eau Claire market in Calgary worth it? Plus, everything, I mean, every single hotel/motel/B&B room in Banff/Canmore/Lake Louise is sold out. Any suggestions, because for now, it looks like I'll have to stay in Calgary. Oh, true, I'll have to go spotting at the end of my trip in Westjet land.
