showed up in BOS on Sunday, July 25th at around 6pm or so. At first I was just thinking that it was a diversion or something like that, but much to my surprise it showed up the very next day, same plane, same time.
Does anybody know what's up with this surprise visitor? Any pictures? Did it have to do with the DNC? Was it a replacement for NW's DC-10 to AMS?
There must have been someone over at Terminal E who knows the scoop! (and has pictures!)

It just might be that there are lots and lots of people from Boston leaving town to go on vacation during the Democratic Convention. I just returned from SEA and it seems like half of Boston was there. Just an idea.

Yeah, I saw it ... no photos though  Sad

I think it was either a re-position or a live flight inbound from either JFK (if it was from JFK it was a ferry) or AMS because NW037/038 was cancelled. PH-BFY was the reggie. It parked at E-4 on arrival and was then towed off to a hardstand in "North Cargo".
Bonjour Chef!

I think it was either a re-position or a live flight inbound from either JFK (if it was from JFK it was a ferry) or AMS because NW037/038 was cancelled. PH-BFY was the reggie.

There is no KL643/4 to JFK on Sunday. Given KL641/2 was operated with a B777 (PH-BQF) on that day and a B747-400 left for Boston on Sunday I highly doubt it wasn't a substitute.

well, it must have been there overnight because I did see it on the 25th and the 26th.

Either it overnighted or arrived back from AMS as you're 100% correct that NW0038 on Monday was operated by a 747-400 (same one).
