Let the pondering begin! I'll start with RDU. We here have been hearing about JetBlue for quite a while. We've got just enough gate space to fit them in if everything were to work out. I'll keep hoping!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy When exactly will JetBlue get their ER190s? That'll be RDU's best chance.

Yeah, I don't think B6 will not go to MIA, either and it is not good for those airport, either. You could try to need find something else with these cities.

My Money is on PHL for transcon. LGB OAK and SLC are three untaped markets from there.

Wouldn't put my money on MIA just yet...I'm gonna go with a Texas city...My pick is either Austin or DFW.

Jetblue recently visited PDX officials and toured the airport..So I think our city might be a good candidate for future service!

The next transcon outside of JFK could be FLL-OAK that is always talked about and with that FLL_SFO rumor from AA folks it's just a matter of who attempts it first.

Yeah, it should wait to see for B6 service from FLL-OAK very soon and they are make stronger passengers are going to OAK. They need to make expanded more new service from FLL.

Will this be a domesticate (I vote for DFW), Canadian (I vote for Montreal), or will it be Caribbean (I vote for Nassau)?

I still think the 600 max mileage rule will be in effect for most of the cities on the proposed expansion list...

My vote goes to PHX, it's a place where there are not many non-stop flights to JFK and people would use it to connect for Middle-Eastern and European flights (now that LH pulled out)...

I hope its somewhere in the midwest. I just can't stand looking at B6's route map and seeing that big old gap in the middle of the country. ORD, MSP, or MKE would be great!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Thanks ScottysAir!

I just checked JetBlue's website and indeed both flights (inbound and outbound) will be red-eyes. Red-eyes are actually having great loads I'm told, will be there a counterpart action (HP & WN) to compete against B6????

DL serves SLC from PHL with 2 non-stops daily, so that market is already tapped with service from PHL.

I'd wager it's YYZ... there has been transborder routes for JB in the rumour mill for a while.

I'm going to guess it's gonna be another international destination. I remember they applied for Canada, Bermuda, and Bahamas in addition to the Dominican Republic. If not that, probably PDX. Deep down inside, I'm praying for ISP but I doubt it.

"I still think the 600 max mileage rule will be in effect for most of the cities on the proposed expansion list..."

Sorry if this has been previously discussed, but I was unaware of this 'rule' that the management has put into effect (no, I don't work for B6. Just fly them. Way too much.). If someone could explain, that'd be great  Smile.

As for the new city, if it's trans-border, I think it'll be YYZ or YUL from JFK. If it's domestic, I think that it could be PDX or SAT from JFK. If it's a Caribbean route, I vote for MBJ or NAS, again from Kennedy.

If it is a Texas city, my vote will go to DFW. I think AUS and SAT will have to wait for the E190s.

My bet is something in the West, however. PDX is a good possibility.

Or maybe they'll surprise us with MCI or STL.

Or, just to scare legacy carriers and LCCs, how about PHL!

From what I read from articles and the such.. B6 only wants to use the EMB190 on routes 600 miles or less.

I would hope that MKE would be one of the top cities on their list. I heard one of my co-workers mention that she heard rumors about JetBlue and DAY....I know that DAY was on JetBlue's list before they started flying....has anyone else heard anything???

The only rumors goin' around at work really is Miami. They added another 60 flight attendants to the FLL base too. YUL or YYZ is too close and too saturated (AirCanada, Westjet, Canjet, Jetsgo, American, United, Delta from New York alone). Plus we dont have many French speakers for flights to Montréal. Austin and San Antonio have been gettin' a lotta talk for months. Portland, OR wouldnt surprise me either. Vancouver from JFK would be a cool choice...

But... I haven't heard any news about announcing a new city next week... just changing the crew hotel in Las Vegas...

PIT, PIT, PIT, PIT, PIT, PIT!!!!! I know its not going to happen, but I'm really tired seeing US planes! I really know that the best reason for expansion into an airport is to keep spotters happy! ;->

ERJ170,

Yes, it will make to plans expansion more new cities to ABQ, TUS, BDA, CUN, NAS, YYZ, YUL and etc. I don't think french speaking on B6 flight attendant, either. They will make looking for new flight attendant for french speaking.

My 2 votes are MCO-LGB
And neither of those two cities are new.  Insane

My vote would be for Portland or Miami, but Miami would be quite a chance for B6.

But... I haven't heard any news about announcing a new city next week... just changing the crew hotel in Las Vegas...
Now there is some decent news! So, what is the new hotel?  Big grin

For what it is worth B6 is not going to let the cat out of the bag until the last moment, why would they give another carrier the chance to ramp up service before it had the chance by leaking its new city. Right now it amounts to wishful thinking on are part, and that is if a new city is even going to be announced.

RICHMOND!!!! RIC desperately needs LCC service, they have UA, US, NW, DL, CO, and AA, plus USA3000 service to Fort Meyers. It costs a fortune to fly out of RIC. We have Southwest at ORF and AirTran at PHF, having JetBlue at RIC would give us the triple crown of LCC's (that serve the east coast, anyway) and they wouldn't directly compete with each other. While Norfolk, Newport News, and Richmond are all relatively close to each other, and do overlap a little, they each have pretty much their own markets.

This is so odd....

I have seen quite a few RDU's in here.. and I wasn't even one of them! My question would be.. if it was RDU (and that is probably a big IF).. what would AA do to answer? Right now, AA has virtually MORE than hourly service to JFK/LGA/EWR all on AE! DL has four daily flights to FLL on DLConn. Do you think either will retaliate, especially since this is still AA's and DL's turf?

But I still don't think it is RDU until next year... unless they plan to sublease from IDE or US and use them as their grounds crew!

I would say Miami has a real chance, there's just so much demand for flights to South Florida from NYC. And only AA and CO serve MIA from NYC, Miami has a strong connection to NYC and even with stiff competition from AA B6 would most likely be successful on the route.
