Excellent  Big thumbs up. It's about time that West Africa got some routes served on a daily basis to somewhere other than Europe.
Also, I too am wondering about the details of the to-be-leased A330-200.

'''Excellent . It's about time that West Africa got some routes served on a daily basis to somewhere other than Europe'''

Don't forget the very poor economic situation and even more important, the very poor security situation. It's not my nr 1 tourist destination....

Sabena operated 6 A332s, and all of those are currently being operated by other companies:

OO-SFP Air Greenland
OO-SFQ Malaysia Airlines
OO-SFR Malaysia Airlines
OO-SFS Malaysia Airlines
OO-SFT Lufthansa
OO-SFU Lufthansa

As the ones in Greenland and Malaysia are on long term leases, the only possible explanation is that Emirates is about to take over the 2 aircraft that will come off-lease later this year from Lufthansa. As a matter of fact, Lufthansa is disposing of another 3 A332s on short term lease. They are ex-Swissair birds.

Do you think EK would ever consider or even CO fly the LOS-IAH-LOS route as there is a lot of potential OIL traffic on that route.

If EK fly the LOS-IAH-LOS route then pax can connect with their LOS-ACC-LOS flight which would mean that EK would be serving the West African market convieniently from USA.

However I dont think so this would ever happen as EK want to fly to IAH nonstop from DXB with A 345s.

EK's flights to LOS-ACC are quite full.

Extra capacity was needed. West Africa has a lot of growth possibilities from an Airline business point of view.
