Delta Connection Fleet

Mon Aug 02, 2004 3:57 am

I was browsing seat maps for Delta Connection aircraft...

http://www.delta.com/travel/plan/aircraft_types/index.jsp#conx

I noticed that the CRJ-200 and -700 are only listed under ASA. I find this very odd because I could have sworn that Comair has been taking deliveries of both the -200 and -700. Unless I'm becoming delusional, I remember seeing a Comair CR7 this morning at CVG. The EMB-120 and ERJ-135 are also listed under Comair's fleet. First, I thought Comair retired all of the EMB-120's years ago when they went all-jet. I also do not recall them placing any orders for the ERJ.

I can tell you from flying on them that Comair operates the CRJ-700.
The fleet list is totally outdated. You might have noticed the old configuration on the 777's and that they still have the MD-11 listed.
Where have all the tri-jets gone...

True. Comair does not have ERJs. The whole fleet list is screwed up. Comair has 50 seaters and 70 seaters and no props. Also, Chautauqua flies the -135 in addition to the -145.

Yes, the fleet listing is very screwed up. Comair operates 40, 50 and 70 seat CRJ's. Of course, the 40 seaters are really just 50 seaters with seats removed.

The MD11 is still listed because DL still owns (or leases) the MD11's. DL is still financially responsible for these planes even if they are not actively flying.

Here's a breakdown of the Delta Connection system..

CRJ-200 - ASA, Comair, SkyWest (ASA and Comair operate 40 and 50 seat versions)
CRJ-700 - ASA, Comair
ERJ-135 - Chautauqua
ERJ-145 - Chautauqua
ATR72 - ASA
EMB120 - SkyWest
328Jet - ACA (but not for long!)

The hubs are BOS, JFK, CVG, ATL, MCO, DFW, and SLC.. there's also some point-to-point flying from DCA and CMH.
Ask why..
