The Concorde in question is G-BOAB, one of the two BA Concordes which were never returned to flying condition after the Paris crash. She now belongs to Heathrow Airport Ltd, and the plan was to put here into T5 when complete, however I'm not sure whether the plans were too far advanced to accomodate OAB. At the moment BAA have positioned her to the side of ex-runway 23, which is a good position because when the 27s are in use many pax such as yourself can see her out of the window as they arrive/depart.
Once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned forever skyward

This has been parked alongside runway 23 for about 6 months now at what used to be the old compass base. This aircraft is now maintained jointly between BAA and BA and although not airworthy there are plans to have it as a sort of gate guardian for T5 when it opens.
Hope this helps a bit.

It is sitting next to the runway at LHR, a tourist attraction. Resting after years of service. Hopefully one day she will be back in full swing. I find it sad to see her sitting there. She remains back up above, in the wild blue yonder.

G-BOAB last flew on 15 August four years ago as an empty flight from JFK to LHR. She, like G-BOAA were never modified after the AF incident, so have been sitting around for quite some time. At least all BA's SST aircraft are to be seen on display in various places! We all miss her!

Would be good to see G-BOAB replace the ''G-CONC'' model outside the enterance to the tunnel outside LHR, might take up a bit too much space though.

Yes, great, I believe G-CONC is half size! I'll have to take a look at the space on the entrance when I'm over at LHR next time!
