What Happens To Planes In Storage

Tue Aug 10, 2004 5:32 am

When an airline "Retires" a plane, where does it go, is it used for parts, sold, leased, left to rot? Stupid questions yes, but I am curious.

Usually go to MHV,VCV, or RSW to be stored, some come back either with the same airline or a different one, some get parted, some get parted and scrapped, and some get sent back to their lessor. Do a search for pics taken at MHV or VCV, it might help to understand better too.

Shit, maurice beat me to it!
