Cathay To Be Sold?

Thu Feb 24, 2000 3:32 am

I've been on PPrune lately, and a view seems to be emerging among staff at CX that the Swires Group which controls CX is gearing up to sell it's stake in the airline to Chinese interests, with the aim of pulling out of Air Transport altogether. Cathay have recently also reduced their holdings in Dragonair. Have any other people heard of this "nationalisation" of CX, and if so what would it mean for the airline as a whole?
