Luisde8cd: indeed bad news for CCS, but may be Air Madrid will fly there in future? Sad too that KLM stopped their flights to Venezuela after so many years...
Indeed it was sad to see KLM pull out of CCS
. It was also sad when they downgraded their service from a MD11 to a B763.By the way. They had ahuge 1-page ad in a major Venezuelan newspaper thanking Venezuela for their support in all those years they operated in the country. It's a sad consecuence of the merger with Air France... I'll never forget those blue MD
-11s touching down in CCS
's hot runway 09 in the afternoon. I know they operated a 747 with a stop in Curaçao before switching to non-stop with the MD
-11 but I was too young to remember the 747.
Air Madrid in Venezuela? hmm I haven't heard anything. Right now Santa Bárbara is kicking IB
and Air Europa butts with their lower fares. Also they are the only ones flying to the Canary Islands (Tenerife-Los Rodeos) after IB
pulled out of that route. They also fly to Santiago de Compostela nonstop seasonal service during summer. They have a big market share in the Spain-Venezuela market.
