Financial Impact Of Charley

Sat Aug 14, 2004 1:47 am

What will be the financial impact of all the cancellations occuring over the next few days in FL? Will this be devastating to already-struggling airlines like Delta, who probably has the brunt of CXs, or will the impact not be that significant because people will be reassigned to other flights?

What's the word on the "inside"?

Hurricanes are hardly a rare phenomenon around Florida and the eastern coast of the US.

Temporary disruptions but normal service will resume in a couple of days.

Until the next hurricane.

I think airlines have more to worry about with aircraft being damaged by Charlie than delays.

Yes, it is not like they didn't know about it, or the season, from June - Nov I am sure the airlines are prepared for the hurricane push
