SAS Aircraft Question

Hi!

I am looking to use my Mileage Plus miles on a trip to Scandinavia (from DUS) and I am having a hard time finding out which routes are operated by which type of aircraft. A flight with a 737-600 is of course the priority and an MD-90 or a 73G would also be nice.
Does anybody know a site or something where I can find out what plane type is scheduled.
I did some searches but http://www.airwise.com didn't show all flights and all other (standard) websites didn't show which 737 model is used.

You should include an LH flight from DUS to FRA, to fly from there on SK to Scandinavia and beyond, the chances are higher to get the 736, 73G or MD-90 when you fly from FRA.

I know that all DUS-Scandinavia flights are operated by the M80, DH4 or an unknown 737 type (the OSL flight), so there are not many flights operated by planes you want to get a flight on compared to SK's flights ex FRA (all information according to their upcoming winter timetable).

Well, I was actually looking for a flight to SVG and the CPH-SVG is on an MD-90 according to Airwise.
But on the way back, via OSL, I can't find too many infos.
And believe me, I'll try my best to avoid FRA.

Why? You will get two more flights for the same amount of miles when you are flying via FRA. Connecting from an intra-German flight to a flight which ends in another Schengen country is rather painless because you arrive and depart on the same level in Terminal 1A.

And as I already wrote, the chances to get one of your favored aircraft type is higher ex FRA. You should keep in mind that there can be an equipment change on one of your flight within Scandinavia, you could get another "boring" aircraft type instead of a real rare type like the 736 or the MD-90. Believe me, I experienced an equipment change often enough but this saga has fortunately an end since I got the A 318 last month  Big thumbs up.

Amadeus don't show the specific types of the 737, just the 737 code which represents the whole aircraft family. The SAS website is not better, they also list something like "Boeing 737 all series".

Patrick, you are right, but I totally dislike FRA.
I don't know why. You are right about the extra flights though, so it's worth looking at.
My itinerary depends on what United will allow me to do anyway.

And for equipment changes, I am hoping that I'll finally get my first 767-400 in January, if Delta does not deny me this aircraft AGAIN.  Smile

I guess Amadeus shows 737 subtype if the airline supplies that info. Looking at schedules in the US I see 733s and 73Gs.

Without really answering your question I thought I would say that the 736 are mostly used in/around Sweden, but we also have the MD80 and MD90 (unfortunately). The 73Gs are Norwegians and Denmark is MD territory.
