Indy Air To LAX

Sun Aug 22, 2004 12:10 pm

Just posted on Indy Air's career page:
Station Manager, Supervisor and CSA opportunities at LAX. Hardly a surprise, but unusual to see the job openings before the press release!

rydel,
with the low fare carrier(wn)serving bwi and the addition of doug parker and his band of teamsters flying to the city of angels from iad there is already low fares carriers serving the routes and lets not forget that aa and ua serve that route as well and have matched the bwi fares out of iad..........good luck to kerry and his kool aid drinkin employees.....l.

Rydel:

Okay, I'm confused. Between JetBlue, Southwest, America West, Airtran from Atlanta and Frontier PHL/LAX there would seem to quite a lot of cheap transons.

And given the majors match the low fares on almost any transcon routes, I'm even more confused.

But given that some transcons are being cutback for the slow Fall season, you could even say that there are too many cheap transcons.

cheers

I would imagine it was ALWAYS in the works to fly to LAX, but remember that FlyI only started off with just CRJ's in their fleet. This ac wouldn't be suitable range-wise or otherwise for IAD - LAX. When they get their 320-family planes, I'm sure LAX will be added.

Cheap transcontinental flights...finally.

The only major transcon markets that haven't got LCC flights are MIA and EWR, and even those have LCCs operating nextdoor at FLL and JFK, respectively.

I'm pretty sure Rydel was being sarcastic.

If memory serves me correctly, the first 5 airbus cities are as in order of the following.... MCO, LAX, SFO, LAS, FLL .

Any word on when FlyI might be starting FLL? I will need to go down in mid-January, but would be willing to take FlyI over Continental if they had the route in place.

MIA is due for some LCC transcons. I only hope that HP is the first.

I have heard from around the way is that you do not see many LCCs in MIA becasue of the landing fees there. I will look for some evidence around, not sure if it is something I heard or if it is something I read...

Most airlines only offer SA tix for interviews UAL included. When I interviewed I was offered an SA tix from the closest city served.
Enough about flying lets talk about me!

Sdkualeb,

You'll take any opportunity to bash Indy that you can get, won't you.
