Most Expensive Non-refundable Ticket

Tue Aug 24, 2004 3:53 am

I just purchased a ticket on CO for next day travel and it was $1,673 dollars non-refundable. That is crazy! Used to pretty much anything within 3 days travel would always be really expensive, but at least refundable. Just trying to find more ways to try and make some money.

What is the highest non-refundable fare you have paid?

Here's a hypothetic:

Say you pruchase a first class fare LAX-NRT-LAX, and you want to add a restricted LAX-LAS leg on the end. (Why in the world would you want it ticketed this way????). Anyway, the entire ticket will now be restricted by this one small leg. Thus you $10,000 fare becomes non-rufunable.

one night in college we got bored and started looking for the most expensive flight we could book. actally, what we were trying to do was book the cheapest flight from KPHX to KMRY. we found one from KPVD to EDDF going around the world. it would have cost a total of $23,800 for next day's travel. the route we planned was PWM to LGA to PHL to LAX on US. then LAX to HNL to SYD on QF. SYD to LHR on BA.

ASTROJET707: I'm not surprised that fare is nonrefundable--it's a great deal for a business ticket!

$2200.oo is a great deal considering the non-discounted fare ia almost $9,000.00USD. If you change plans...$300 change fee and if you cancel the money can only be applied to a full fare business or first class ticket.

London - Sydney on United, via LAX is GBP2394.00 (or USD4410.00) and isn't fully refundable. For those in the know thats Fare Basis BKOX.
