Now.. What Do You Know About This Airplane?

Wed Aug 25, 2004 6:41 pm

Hi!

Yes, yes, this is a very strange and unique airplane isn't it? I know that at least one of them was airworthy until 1 or 2 years ago, but there's not a lot of information about this airplane, any of you have information, stories, facts, places were this airplane flew, anything can help to light up a little bit more about this airplane.

Hi All,

I remember seeing F-BHOO at Fairford many years ago, at the time it was operated by the L'Institute Geographique National, I'm guessing on photographic work. It's now been re-registered and is currently in the care of the Association des mecanciens pilotes d'aeronefs anciens. Unfortunately my French is extremely rusty but their website talks about the plane.

http://www.membres.lycos.fr/neo2097/ampaa.htm

Other info I've gleamed from websites:

9 HD34's were built
First flight was on 26th February 1957
3 still in existence
High Aspect Wing Ratio design for fuel efficiency.

Anybody got any more info?

Regards
