Swiss And AA Strengthen Cooperation

Fri Aug 27, 2004 1:36 am

Just found this article on swiss.com:

http://www.swiss.com/web/IE6/about-swiss/sw-nw-pr-press-releases-04.htm?newsid=47839

and it's also on AA.com:

http://www.aa.com/content/amrcorp/pressReleases/2004_08/25_aa_swiss.jhtml

Sounds like good news to me. Now if only AA could force BA to let SWISS into oneworld without having to give up its FFP...  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Cheers,
Patrick

Well, no big deal, they just coordinate the departure times of their JFK-flights. But at least something...

All that is left is for Swiss to consider joining OneWorld again now that Aer Lingus could leave the alliance.

Basically because it is dropping premium class service in intra-European flights. Premier Class (name of EI's business class) will remain in long-haul flights.
Next flights: MEX-LAX AM 738, LAX-PVG DL 77L, SHA-PEK CA 789, PEK-PVG CA A332, PVG-ORD MU 77W, ORD-MEX AM 738

Eddie,

Is there a requirement in OneWorld alliance that international services have business class? I think AA Eagle flights between Canada and US don't have business class service. Also, does EI need to leave for LX to join? I thought airlines alliances could add and drop as many airlines as they want?

Best,
