Spotting At Ksea

Tue Aug 31, 2004 9:58 am

I will be in Seattle September 23 -26. Any good places to spot at KSEA? Also, is the Boeing Museum worth a visit?

Check out the spotterguides for SEA and BFI:

Yes - Museum of Flight is well worth a visit. As a matter of fact, it's awsome!

I live in Delray Beach, FL - but I've visited SEA many times. I've driven around the northern perimeter of the airport and found a great area right under the approach when flights are coming in from the north. This was the only place I found that I could get decent shots other than when I got off of my flight and took photos from within the terminal. If you get a chance, PDX is wonderful for spotting from the parking garage.

Also, I do not know about the museum at Boeing Field - but a trip to Everett is well worth the trip if they still offer a tour!

Have a fantastic trip - I am envious, as I love travelling to Washington state as often as I can.

Seattle is a hard place to spot cause its elevated. On the south side there is a park you can go to, but it still a little low to see the field.

Yes, the Boeing Plant tour (Everett) and the Aviation Museum at Boeing Field are worth the trip for aviation lovers. Go to Boeing Field and see the Concorde, what a beuty.

If you have a car, you can follow I-405 as it turns into 518 or whatever it is...just take the Sea Tac freeway exit and don't turn off at the freeway. Keep going and as soon as you see the ILS approach lights, pull over and set up shop, especially if they are landing on the 16's. Just beware of the occasional Washington State Patrol car ever eager to pull you over and check you out to make sure you're not a terrorist.
