Independence Air To Announce Service To TPA Soon

Thu Sep 02, 2004 12:25 pm

Just checked their website. If you look under "careers", you'll see that they're hiring for station manager, customer service agents, and a customer service supervisor at Tampa. Seems like TPA is going to be the next (or one of the next) to be announced.

I wonder what's next on their list after TPA. Do you think they'll go for MIA or FLL? (seeing as FLL is already getting congested with so many focus city announcements).

I searched... but nothing came up... Sorry.

Searched under both Tampa and Independece Air.

You can go ahead and suggest deletion if you'd like.

I vote to let it slide. We don't mind a few Independence Threads in here from time to time...right?!!? Besides, we're out to change the status quo!

Alright, if you wish.

What do you think about the FLL/MIA deal?

What do you think about the FLL/MIA deal?

The word is they will go to FLL at first, though that does not mean they won't be at MIA in the future.

Honestly...thats a tough decision for any of us to make. They have already strayed away from the original consensus of only doing hub and spoke LCC service. I think they have contengency decisions already made for what is going on in FLL. I wouldn't be surprised to see them offer MIA/PBI service and avoid the FLL market for awhile until it cools off. But, noone outside the boardroom will probably know anything until the website administrator posts the jobs in the career section of their webpage. However, as an armchair CEO, I would imagine if US Air bites the dust, they might postpone further expansion out west and instead focus on becoming one of the two biggest rivals for the east coast. The other being JetBlue. This is gonna get interesting real quick,

It is my understanding that we will service FLL and not MIA. However this industry is always changing and you never know what can happen so nothing is set in stone. And also I myself have applied for a transfer to TPA as a CS supervisor and hope to be back in my home town soon!!!

Very true flyijax. Good luck with TPA, I think I know who will probably be the station manager there. I'm going to MCO myself as a supervisor!

They need to bring those cool blue and white birds down to FLL - and hopefully PBI as well. The more LCCs down here, the better....

....good luck to all of my fellow SFL a.netters during Frances, by the way!

Cool Flyibaby, I thought about MCO myself but figured I want to go back to my home more. Congrats on getting the job in MCO and if you know I was wondering how many agents we will staff there?

Yeah, I figured they might have chosen FLL. It's going to be really difficult to work out the check-in counters, they were running low already! I'm sure FLL will expand, eventually, but how quickly? They were having troubles using the temporary counters at Term 4 long before all these announcements, and what about their gates at Terminal 4 with all the new Intl. service? I'm sure it's going to be a huge headache.
