Ryanair Carried 20% More Pax This Aug Than Last

Sat Sep 04, 2004 2:27 am

Ryanair carried 20% more passengers in August this year than the same month last year, at 2,565,185 million and 2,141,664 million respectively.

The carrier's average load factor was 90% in August 2003 and 92% in August this year.

Most interestingly, the number of bookings made via the internet also rose - from 94% in August, 2003, to 97% in August this year.

This good news follows FR's announcement that it'll start four new routes from Prestwick - to Niederrhein, Lubeck, Pisa and Murcia.

From 31st August, 2003, to 31st August this year, Ryanair carried 25,452,041 passengers.

I've flown Ryanair last July from Charleroi to Pisa: full loads! But nevertheless, on time departure, 10 min early arrival both ways!
It's a huge succes over here in Belgium, a lot of people already have flown it, and I noticed myself: a lot of Dutch people come down to "Brussels South" to take the flights.
Ryanair knows it's niche and plays it very well. Honest product.
Not sure if their decision to encourage people to stow a lot of luggage in the overhead bins is in the interest of safety...??

Do you have any figures on capacity growth over the same period?
