Air India & Alitalia

Sun Sep 05, 2004 10:42 pm

By my take on these two carriers it appears that every month each of them announce the following.
1. Air India announces (order or cancelation) of long haul fleet.
2. Alitalia announces (firing or hiring of new CEO) after present CEO states airline will have to cut jobs to survive.

With all due respect, Air India has NEVER even announced the order of a long haul fleet. The matter still hasn't gotten to that level.  Big grin

In the 1980's when Rajiv Gandhi was PM and Rajen Jetly the MD, Air India unexpectedly changed their wine menu to include a number of Italian wines. Coincidence? Perhaps, although rumors persisted that the PMs wife had some influence over the decision.
