AirTran Slots At DCA?

Mon Sep 06, 2004 4:31 am

Did AirTran lose all it's slots into DCA? If not, how many flights per day will they still have into DCA?

If i am not mistaken they only lost 2 slots(1 roundtrip). They were stupid enough to obtain these slots and then only use them for seasonal service so they were yanked to be given to someone else.

This is the first I knew about this. What routes were foolishly seasonal that the slots at DCA were yanked?

The 'foolish' seasonal route was DCA-PBI-DCA. But, we're all armchair CEO's and COO's in the end anyway.

AirTran currently flies 3X ATL-DCA (soon going to 4X) and one RSW-DCA.
I work for Southwest, but the views expressed are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Southwest.

Actually, we already operate four daily ATL r/t's and one RSW turn.
