Does Tango Still Exist?

Tue Sep 07, 2004 2:53 am

I was just wondering if Tango still exists? I recall earlier this year that Tango was supposed to be shut down and yet I still see Tango in AC ads and the website is still up. So did they never actually shut it down or did they just make some changes and kept it around?

Tango the AC "airline-within-an-airline" no longer exists. However, the Tango brand still exists. Tango is now the cheap fare class on domestic and transborder routes with AC. The ex-CP 320s still wearing purple (some were painted into AC Jetz colours) will remain this way to promote the Tango brand until their next paint job or maybe will be kept that way permanently???

I think there are around 3 or 4 A-320's still painted in full Tango colors, I usually see several a week in LGA, as recently as last week, here is a photo taken earlier in the summer !

Tango is no longer an airline. Tango is now the "Tango Fare" on Air Canada mainline routes. The Tango aircraft you see are just planes that haven't been painted back into mainline colours.

What could possibly go wrong?
