El Al "using" North American to feed their flights to Israel is not a fair comparison at all. North American were / are (do they still exist?) owned
by El Al. So it hardly counts as a codeshare.
PROSA, re flights between the US and the Middle East? Again, I wouldn't count El Al at all cos you can't fly on from Tel Aviv to anywhere, and since almost none of it's people are actually from
the region, it barely even counts as a Middle East country. But as well as RJ
, Egyptair fly from Cairo to NYC and (still?) LAX
, Emirates fly nonstop to Dubai, and even Biman Bangladesh stop in DXB
en route to JFK
, Saudia fly to New York and Washington from various Saudi cities, Royal Air Maroc fly to JFK
(and Montreal) from Casablanca, and soon EK
will be joined by copycats Qatar Airways at JFK
. Maybe even MEA
will be allowed in one day.
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz
