my girlfriend and I just returned from a trip to Asia. We were on 12 flights between various Asian cities, two of them were in Cathay Pacific's Business Class, there I noticed something strange:
CX seat numbering beginns not with seat row no. 1 but with seat row 11 (at least in their 773 and 333). During check-in I asked for seats as far up in the front of the cabin as possible, the check-in agent replied: "No problem Sir, not many people have checked in until now, so I give you 12A and 12C", I thought: "What an idiot, row 12 is not in the front of the cabin", took the boarding passes and went away. Then, during boarding, the big surprise, 12 A and C are the seats in the first row of the Biz Class.
I never saw that before on another airline, is there any explanation why CX have such a strange seat numbering? Are there other airlines who have a similar strange and confusing seat numbering?
