The top floor is occupied by a glass fronted observation deck, which is worth checking out.
The number of flights is quite low, but there are gems. When I visited in 2002, there were B727 of Libyan Arab Airways and Nomads N727M also F28 of Libyan Arab Airways.
If you take a left hander on leaving the airport, go along to the underpass then take another left hander on the other side you come to Safi, which contained 3 BWA/Air Leone BAC111 and DC3 T9
-ABC. You can also get taxing shots from Luqa. There is even a rickety gantry to see over the fence. The locals use it and no one seemed to mind. When security drove past, I waved and they waved back.
There is also the Aviation Museum at Ta'Quali and the War Museum at Fort St Elmo in Valetta.
Relax and enjoy. Also try to find time to visit the historical sites, it is well worth.
