Why Are They Boarded Up?

Mon Sep 13, 2004 7:54 pm

This thread is directed at the Manchester ringway spotters really??..The house,s in the photo at the end of the runways which have been under the flight path for at least 60 years all of a sudden are boarded up and set for demolition???,,,I have asked people who live in ajoining houses as to why and they say its just that the roofs are too close to the incoming aircraft??? Sorry but that has been the case for a long time...I have heard they are going to put a viewing park there ..Amongst the sheep!!! Has anyone got any ideas why theses houses are really being demolished??

Well, if they've been there for 60 years they have probably sustained some structural damage that is just not worth repairing considering the value of property in that location. Be great though if they just took the roof off and turned them all into one giant spotting terrace  Big thumbs up
