Aeroflot To Delhi

Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:36 pm

Hello dudes,

planning to fly to Delhi, India, and Aeroflot via Moscow is an option here. Anyone happened to fly the route, or Aeroflot recently anyway?

What a/c are they using for Delhi? Damn website's... can't figure the whole thing out.. and it was 10 years since I last flew the airline..

Thanx!

There was just a thread on this yesterday, look on the 2nd page of topics, it should be there. Haven't flown that route, but know lots of people who have. I, myself, have flown Aeroflot a lot in the last 2-3 years. Its fine. Delhi is 767 or 777. Ocassionally Il-96. 777 has PTV's that sometimes work, the rest have traditional mainscreen IFE. Transiting SVO is interesting if not sometimes boring. It shouldn't be hassle though. On-board you get lots of food and drink, although service might be austere. Ground-staff can be obnoxious, but I've always found the flight attendants to be polite and usually friendly, especially if you smile at them. Have fun!

I am looking at Aeroflot's paper timetable (through October 30, 2004).

Monday- no service to Delhi, only Mumbai on TU-204 (thru GTK Rossiya?)
Tuesday- Flight 533 18:15 SVO-Delhi on IL-96 arriv 01:50
Tuesday- Flight 535 19:50 SVO-Delhi on B-772 arriv 03:50
Wednesday- Flight 535 19:50 SVO-Delhi on B-772 arriv 00:30 (typo?)
Thursday- Flight 535 19:50 SVO-Delhi on B-772 arriv 02:45
Friday- Flight 535 19:30 SVO-Delhi on IL-96 arrive 03:00
Saturday- Flight 535 19:35 SVO-Delhi on B-772 arrive 02:45
Sunday- Flight 535 19:15 SVO-Delhi on IL-96 arrive 02:45

corresponding return flights have one higher flight number, they leave between 07:00-10:00 from Delhi to SVO.

The timetable is a bit confusing so you need to confirm with SU in Helsinki.

Hi There,

Flew Aeroflot last summer AMS-SVO-HAN. I was kind of worried about transferring at SVO, because I heard many stories about long queues and moody immigration staff. Everything went very smooth though.
On the way back something strange happened when checking in for our flight from SVO to AMS. The lady at the check in desk looked at our tickets and asked in a rude way: 'What do you want?'. I responded with the quite obvious answer: 'We want to fly'.
The lady looked as if that was the strangest thing she ever heard people saying in an airport and just said: Ticket no good.

We used that ticket on already three legs so I was quite surprised (and a little bit worried too). I insisted that wasn't possible and she called a colleague. Together they inspected our tickets for a couple of minutes without saying anything to us. Then she printed the boarding cards and pointed without saying anything to hurry up and walk on.... I have no idea what happened or what the problem was ... Let me say: flying Aeroflot...It's an experience  Smile

I've been asked several times at counters, "what, you want me to check you in?" or, "what do you want," I suppose these questions aren't as rude in Russian, but are very in English. Sensitivity training perhaps is not offered to SU ground staff....

Do it.
I have heard from different positive feedback from different passengers.
They are cheap in price and it has been going through great improvements.
