Need C/n Bismallah L-1011

Tue Sep 14, 2004 3:35 am

Hi !

I just purchased a slide of the above mentioned TriStar. The Reg suppose to be S2-ADL but I can not find this reg nowhere. I only find S2-ADR. So my question is : How many L-1011 does Bismallah have in their fleet and what is their backround info ?

I presume the Reg info for the purchased slide was wrong !

Thank you for any hints.

To the best of my knowledge, Bismillah just lends its call sign for a fee to any carrier wishing to operate into Bangladesh in order to avoid royalty that they would otherwise have to pay as an international operator. On the other hand, I've also seen a L-1011 pix with Bismillah written on the side (whether that was computer generated for effect, I do not know).

Maybe Planemannyc or one of our A.net friends from Bangladesh can throw more light on this.

Flyinghigh69,

I am sorry, but all the news reports I read say that Bismillah has only one L1011 (S2-ADR) and I can add nothing further about S2-ADL.

I do know that cargo business in Bangladesh is booming and I guess it would not be a complete surprise if Bimillah took another L1011; however, they seem more likely to take AN-12s as that aircraft is better suited to fly between domestic points as well (as far as I know, there are only two civilian airports in Bangladesh capable of handling the L1011).

Best,
