FLL Ops

Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:12 am

Surprized that noone has mention this yet today, starting today rwy 9L/27R has been closed for maintenence. 13/31 is the "main" runway now. the intersection between 9L/27R and 13/31 will be worked on this weekend. Both runways will be OTS This weekend. I know this info been out for a while, but just wanted to let people know it has begun. That little parking area on the southeast end of the field might be a great place to get some shots, this weekend.

so, effectively, FLL will be closed this weekend in the morning? At least it looks like it will only be redeyes and some others effected!

Also, I'm flying on OCT 1 and 3, any chance that I'll use 13?

Just passed by FLL today, had to go into work for a moment. Looks like they have stripped the top layer off the runway already. I saw a few arrivals/ departures off the runway. Definately not used to seeing that flow there. The park on the southeast side of the airport was full of cars. Really not a big place, only about ten casr fit there in the first place.
