We are heading into the slow autumn season, when pax numbers drop and airlines attempt to fill up flights with ridiculous fare sales.....September and October are traditionally the most difficult for the airlines and many carriers are still flying their heavy summer schedules.
I think that BA
is trying something new this year, cutting back certain flights on everything from a one-off basis to 2 month period in order to cut costs, take some seats out of the system in an attempt to improve yeilds, and this will also give BA
an opportunity to do some maintenance on some airliners after the busy summer period. BA
is simply handling this schedule change in a new way......not officially changing their schedules but simply cutting flights here and there.
I do think actions like this are confusing to passengers.....while a pax understands that flight X to city Y will be discontinued, notes like flight A will not operate on 3 september, 9 october and not on tuesdays during the month of november is a bit confusing. I trust that BA
is working hard to reaccommodate affected pax.
