I was wondering the exact same thing last night, It's been a while since I'd seen the 767 at MAN
. At least the 757 is no longer loitering around Manchester and is put to good use.
The 757 was formerly with Air 2000 (DP/AMM) the aircraft was painted into full AV8 colours and should have operated on the AV8 Air Air Operators Certificate but the parent company decided to continue using the 767s on their AOC
The 757 never made any revenue flights for AV8, but it did operate a number of crew training flights. Their callsign was "Pennine" but it caused too much confusion so they changed it to "Ringway". The 757 went to Astraeus for the summer, Simon says it's back with AV8 (In post 3).
I'm unsure as to what is happening there but needless to say the UK Charter industry is a tough market to live in and it wouldn't suprise me if the tour operator/ travel agent pulled the plug on AV8 again and just put PAX on other airlines (Although there is no MAN
