New DL Schedule Posted

The new flight schedules are online. So we can see the dry drip of DFW schedule and route adjustments across the system.

Nice, I guess some of those CRJ's being pulled from DFW will be flying CRW-CVG. Ill miss the FRJ's, but theyre not capable of enough seats, always full.

Some notable things that I found:

-DFW still retains widebody service with 767-200s and 767-300s all to ATL.
-ATL-BOS is back to hourly flights
-ATL receives a few MD-90s to CVG and ORD, there may be more
-CVG receives quite a few MD-90s
-ATL-FL seems to have received more flights, ATL-MCO with 15 daily, ATL-FLL with 14 daily, may just be because of the season though
-Many routes have received additional RJ service (so much for Grinstein not liking RJ's on long routes Yeah sure )

I'll post more if I find anything else interesting.

Other new daily routes from CVG include CVG-PNS (3x), CVG-MGM (2x), CVG-VPS (3x) and CVG-BTR (2x)....all flown using RJ's of course.

For the Upstate New York crowd, mainline service returns to BUF from both ATL and CVG. Also, SYR and ALB see increased mainline to ATL.

Mainline service also returns to Pasco, WA and Spokane, WA.

And for the GPT fans, GPT will have 1x daily 732 to ATL, plus a bunch of RJ's.

Jacksonville is seeing a decrease in overall Delta seats.

Presently JAX has 2 x CRJ, 2 x CR7 to Dallas with ASA.
Currently weekdays have about 3,234 seats outbound on Delta, with the majority to Atlanta (2,120).

Jacksonville is already losing its two daily CRJ to DCA with Comair.

JAX-ATL will see an increase in capacity after the DFW flights disappear... going to 2 x B757, 7 x B767-300, 1 x MD-88 for a capacity of 2,266 seats.

JAX-CVG is gaining a sixth daily flight on a CRJ-700, but the two MD-88s are downgrading to B737-200s so the overall seats stays exactly the same at 454.

JAX-JFK is receiving a third daily CRJ flight.

Some of Delta's capacity loss at JAX is being made up by other airlines. US Airways is changing two of its three daily JAX-DCA CRJ flights to B737-300. American is adding a fourth daily MD-80 to DFW.

Most of RDU's flts to and from ATL are now 757's and 738's. CVG receives more mainline svc with a mix of 732's and M88's.

ERJ170: delta.com, then go to "flight schedules"...

PVD sees a 6th daily ATL, bad news is that they are all now on M88's (no more 757's)and the additional flight gets into ATL at 11:10pm. No major change to CVG service.

MHT gets one of it's ATL flights downgraded to a CRJ (2 RJ, 1 M88) and sees no change to CVG service (2 M88 & CRJ each).

ISP gets a 4th CRJ to ATL as well...

Its too bad GRR might actually lose mainline service when they drop the 732's. Those were much better than flying the M88 in there for capacity reasons.

Why in hell would they downgrade MHT-ATL? It's pretty popular from what I've seen! Also, why would they make PVD all MD-88's? Even if we do have an extra flight, those 757s go out pretty full!

Overall, the schedual looks pretty good though.

How come service to and from FLL from CVG is so limited compared to all the other Florida destinations?

FLL-CVG- 2X 757, 1X E145
CVG-FLL- 1X 757, 1X CRJ, 1X M88

TPA- 2X M88, 2X CR7,1X 738, 1X 732

JAX- 2X 732, 2X CRJ, 2X CR7
RSW- 3X M88
PBI- 3X CR7, 1X M88

Daily GPT-ATL mainline... SWEETNESS!!!

This has been a long time coming!

Is sad to see GPT will handle only one CR7 as of 01 FEB 05, but with the way ASA fills RJs I'd look to see most of those upgraded quickly to CR7.

As for mainline its a daily 732, not the MD80 I was expecting, but hey, we'll take it, with rapid growth, I expect to see more Delta mainline in GPT by summer 2005, mainly MD80/732, these taking effect after DL sees the demand on the rj flts. and gives them the ol' upgd.

Looking foward to seeing the DLX 145 most likely an additional frequency will be added or flts to FLL or TPA intiated.

Intresting to see all the RJ growth out of CVG. I know that works for non stop service to the Mid West region have been in the pipe line at GPT, but I'd expect it first from NW to DTW over DLX launching CVG-GPT flts.

It is scheduled for the Summer '05. For some reason I think its first day is March 5th or 6th. I am only going on memory though, but the flight is definitely there.

First of all thank everyone for the great replies. I have spent all day looking @ the new routes, and generally I am pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Some notes:

CALMSP
Bum deal on GRR losing ATL mainline, the inbound (DL 1640) did fine, but the return is lucky to have 20 people on the 732, better than overnighting (An A.M. GRR-ATL mainline would work in my opinion, but overnighting here would not). GRR is my base, so I'm happy to see CVG retain the 732, but we did loose a Comair flight. It may return, we will see.

Big777jet
The CVG-FCO route has always been seasonal. Look past June 05.

Everyone!

Is it just me, or did CVG loose it's 10PM-11PM departure window? That was a nice route coming from wherever I could usually work the whole day until 5 PM and get home the same night (though late).

The new schedules are Feb. 1 + for DFW gone as a hub.

I also can't determine where the additional 12 song a/c are coming into the network.

I'm also seeing no ACA routes (expected), but no operations with the DoJo - which I understan that they are to inherit once Independence starts operating a/c with 71 seats or more. Maybe they plan on BK to drop that obligation  Smile

Fun, fun, fun, clicking it up.

Yup, thats right erj, i was checking if i missed anything, that odd to me bbecause those flights to ATL are running great loads, not sure about the yield... Over the summer, they subbed in the CRJ-700 a few days just to see if the bookings went up, and ill be darn if they did. The CR7's filled up. The airport director wants another frj to CVg but with the change to CRJ's hes happy.

Will they be buying any more CRJ-700's?

ERJ170-To see the complete Delta Flights from RDU in March 2005 select the "Flight Schedules" option and plug in from that screen. I suspect that by using the Reservations menu you are only accessing flights that are currently available for purchase. Even though I am not sure about that explanation as there are no CRJ's scheduled between RDU and ATL. Anyway the "Flight Schedules screen offers all of the flights into and out of RDU from all of the nonstop destinations.

Will they be buying any more CRJ-700's?

Under the current contract with the DL mainline pilots, DL is limited to operating only 57 CRJ700's. With the last CR7 deliveries later this year, DL will hit that number. Hence, no more CR7 deliveries.

There are two ways to remedy this.

1) Negotiate a payscale and let mainline pilots fly the CR7. The agreement with DALPA only allows for 57 CR7's at the connection carriers, however there is no limit if those planes are flown by mainline. This is not a likely option, but it's a possibility.

2) Renegotiate the current limits. The use of CR7's and future planes is likely part of the contract talks going on between DL and DALPA. If they can't agree, then DL will likely go CH11 where I would expect to see DL move to have the CR7 cap changed.

Just a quick tidbit here.

SLC-FLL/TPA will see nonstop service start on 12/1 with one daily 738 flight. Double daily 738 service begins on 1/31.

SLC-MSY nonstop service will start on 1/1 with 2 daily 733's. Double daily M90/738 service will start on 1/31.

Looks like for JFK this winter on a daily basis, there will be:

41 mainline flights (25 domestic, 5 Carribbean/Mexico, and 11 transatlantics), 45 RJ flights, and
19 Song (17 Florida, 1 Carribbean, 1 LAS) flights
Grand total of 105 daily flights! Pretty decent for a Focus City

Total #of cities served nonstop: 52

SBN from ATL will be going to 3 ASA dailes (1xCRJ, 2xCR7) from 2 ASA and 1 Comair (2xCRJ, 1xCR7)

to ATL is all ASA (1xCRJ, 2xCR7)

from CVG is the continuation of 7 daily flights, but all Comair now replacing the two daily FRJ's with CRJ's, so 5xCRJ and 2XCR7.

to CVG the same as from

GRR from ATL will be losing a daily mainline 732 in favor of a ASA CRJ, ASA will be taking over all ATL flights 5x Daily with 4xCRJ and 1xCR7. It'll be said to lose mainline  Sad

to ATL will be the same

from CVG will keep it's 7 Daily flights including a mainline 732 and 2xCR7 with the rest being CRJ's all Comair, return service is the same.

AZO from CVG will lose it's 5 daily FRJ's in favor of 5 daily Comair CRJ's.

Looks to me like they are defining the ATL and CVG regionals a little better with ASA and Comair. ASA seems to be losing CVG in favor of Comairs positions in ATL and vice-versa. Does anyone else see this elsewhere?

Looks good for TOL. FRJ's are gone, replaced by CRJ's to CVG, ATL goes from 2 CR7 and 1 CRJ daily to 4 CRJ daily, including a late departure for those of us who need to be in ATL in the morning.

Does Delta's "flight schedule" allow you to see all "to" flights from one "from" city, such as SLC? Or do you need to type in each "to" city individually and keep checking, such as LAX, DFW, etc.?

A previous thread mentioned SLC-Maui service, but I don't think it was true since it is not in the schedule.

Where did you find this info? I am interested at viewing more cities, other than the hubs. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like DFW's loss is SLC's gain in a big-time way. Besides the additions Jkudall listed, SLC-SNA service stays at 7 round trips but goes from 2 M90, 2 733, 2 RJ, and 1 CR7 up to 3 M90, 1 733, 1 RJ and 2 CR7's... or, a capacity increase on 2 of the daily flights with no reductions on the others.

Too bad DTW sees none of the increase and stays at a measly 2 round trips serviced by 733's.

Also great to see non-stops added to locations that previously were funneled through the DFW hub and had no non-stop service such as MSY, AUS, SAT, FLL, and MCO.

Too bad to see the 5 gulf cities like GPT, MOB, PNS, VPS and TLH along with nearby MGM lose all their westbound service they had to DFW. Now travelers to/from that region have to backtrack north and east either to ATL or MEM. AA didn't serve those locations and doesn't look like they have stepped in yet to fill the void. Maybe FL might be able to serve a couple of those locations in time or Continental Jet Express might start service for a couple of these locations to/from IAH.

GPT,MOB,PNS,VPS and TLH all have service to IAH on CO or COEX.

AA will start service from DFW to PNS on Nov 1st with 4x daily ERJ service. I expect AA will look to serve more Gulf Coast cities in the future with DL's recent pulldown.
