Can I Get Different FF Miles On Different Sectors

Sun Sep 19, 2004 10:50 am

I am flying MAN - KTM on BD and GF. Can I earn Lufthansa skymiles on the BD sectors (MAN - LHR) and Gulf Air FF miles on the LHR - Abu Dhabi - KTM sectors when it is booked as one journey and through checked?
Don't try to keep up with the Joneses - bring them down to your level !

The only way is to pretend having no FF card when making reservation and checking-in and reclaim miles after completing the whole journey.
You'll need to save all boarding passes and send a xerox copy of the ticket and originals of the boarding passes to respective freq. flyer customer care centers from which you want the miles to be credited. They will see you've flown more segments than you claim, but since the rule is "no boarding pass no miles" it won't matter.
I don't know how it works with your ff programs when it comes to crediting miles for different booking classes, but in general it should work.
I've done it for my dad splitting miles between CSA OK Plus and Swiss Travel Club when he flew OK and CX PRG-FRA-HKG-AMS-PRG (PRG-FRA, AMS-PRG with OK, the rest with CX).

Of course you can.... one FF number doesn't mean it's carved in stone for the rest of your journey. Besides BD and Gf aren't really partners.

If you booked this through a travel agency, just tell them that you want your BD flights credited to LH's FF number, and GF's flights credited to yoru GF FF programme. If your travel agency doesn't know how to even do that, I suggest finding another travel agency....

OR you can just show your LH number at time of check in at MAN... and again show your GF FF card at LHR when you are transferring. You won't be given your GF boarding pass in MAN. Only at LHR.

GuyBetsy1,
I guess you're right but the problem seems to be that whenever you show your FFP card at check-in the number will appear on all boarding passes for all legs regardless of whether that airline has any FFP parthership or not.
If the agency is capable of logging different ffp membership numbers for different leg, then I'd definitely do it. However, I'm slightly sceptical about it.

Even if you only manage to log one FF number on all the tickets, the airlines won't credit you for it if it doesn't apply to them. So for those ones, simply send your ticket stubs and boarding pass stubs to the airline's FF centre concerned. They will credit them that way. Easy.
