How Many Widebodies Fly In/out Of LGA Everyday?

Wed Sep 22, 2004 1:06 am

Sorry people if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone know the exact number of widebodies that fly in/out of LGA. I know most of these flights are to/from ATL and some from CVG and one to/from MCO. I just wanted to know the exact number as I drive by LGA 4/5 times a week and it makes me wonder as I always see at least one or two. Also for my next flight I want to try the764. Does anyone know the the number of 764 out of LGA and the Flt #s? Thanks for your help guys.

I know JFK does a ton more international traffic than LGA, so the number of widebodies would be much more significant at JFK.

aa777jr....the whole point was about the widebodies at LGA...i know JFK has about 2/3 hundred wide body flights each day.

"DL 1089 is the 764 flight to ATL."

is that the only 764 out of LGA?

DL is the only airline flying widebodies out of LGA at the moment. Best you go to the DL website and download their timetable. That way you'll have the latest schedule info.

There are 7 widebody flights to ATL (Delta) and one to SLC (also Delta). I think that is pretty much it.

One useful tool that I found was the following site:
http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight

Just select the arriving or departing airport and it will spit out a list of flights for that day, you have to click on each flight to see the type of aircraft, it works for most airports but is a little tedious.

If you look at today's sked.from LGA you have the following:

All wide bodies on Delta there go to ATL:

FLT 1089 764 ACFT
FLT 404 763 ACFT
FLT 581 763 ACFT
FLT 775 763 ACFT
FLT 643 763 ACFT

SO A TOTAL OF 7 WIDEBODIES.
717, 727, 731, 732, 733, 734, 735, 73G, 738, 752, 753, 762, 763, 777, DC9, MD80, DC10, L1011, ERJ, CRJ, ATR, DH8, A300,

BG001,

I always try and book my flights on Delta from LGA through ATL This affords you the opportunity to land and take-off at LGA's unique and interesting runways on the 767-300 and 767-400. The best is landing at LGA on runway 3-1 on the 767. You make that extremely low left hand turn over shea stadium mere miles from the runway threshold. You basically come out of the turn and are on the ground.

The post above is highly accurate for departures. There are also these arrivals from ATL into LGA

DL 504 0730 to 0940 hrs 763

DL 506 0840 to 1045 hrs 764

DL 472 0930 to 1141 hrs 763

DL 973 1430 to 1647 hrs 763

DL 1676 1630 to 1853 hrs 763

DL 871 1730 to 1957 hrs 763

DL 1674 2130 to 2339 hrs 763

It is a shame that LGA does not have more widebodies. I remember TW, flying L10s into LGA. As well as AA, and their DC10s. Those are pretty big birds into LGA.

Ah, the good old days of widebodies at LGA:

AA: D10
DL: L10
EA: L10, A300
NA: D10
TW: L10,767
UA: D10,767

Fun times!

While DL provides the only scheduled wide-body service to LGA and it has been that way for at least several years the two below aircraft and their smaller -200 series sisters are regular visitors to LGA on equipment subs, at least 20 times per year each , AC from YYZ and AA primarily from MIA and occasionally DFW. Note that both photos were taken within the last year.
