USAir(Ways): More Hybrids Than Anyone Else?

Thu Sep 23, 2004 11:25 am

See for yourself. Has any other airline had this many variants or hybrids of its livery?

Interesting number of schemes... I peronally love the tail on the second one down on the left, the little diamond type shaped one.

Also interesting that on the Metrojet one. Has a USAir tail, Metrojet titles, and also has US Airways on the red stripe.... identity crisis?  Smile

Talk about a stroll down memory lane... I grew up with US at my hometown airport being the dom carrier, it was always neat to see the different hybrid colors.

Awesome post Matt,

Thanks!

MyTravel Airways, previously Airtours International, beats US Air hands down - especially impressive since they've only been around since 1991 and their fleet is so small in comparison.

Here are their 3 full liveries since 1991

(look at it in large!)

As Crosswind says, considering their age and compartitive fleet size, it has t be MYT hands down!

You can't really include the dot.com livery, for it's a special livery. You also can't include the 2 row on the left because it was a test livery before they changed to the USAir of the 90's livery. Great paint job though. My favorite hybrid though will have to be the DC-9 with the US Airways flag. Now that looks good.
