727-200 Or 737-300?

I have an upcoming opportunity to take a 727-200 or 737-300 on a short 400 mile trip. Anyway, I was just wondering what you guys think I should take as I'm not especially tickled pink about either plane. They are both great planes but I figure I'll take the one that gets the most positive feedback from you guys/gals. Thanks

Theyre amazing planes.. i love riding them.... less commmon than the 737 also.

the take off is especially good. The roll is very silent and it felt as though we were speeding... i love it hehe

oh and did I say i loved it?  

nah but seriously... its also a very user freindly plane (to me) compared to the 737 and its quieter inside (i think) - the seats will be older in most cases, thats the downside.

Although BA in South Africa recently refurbished the seats and they were great.

Go with the 727 while you can... I love the birds.. Reliable and dependable... Blow half a wing off, beat the crap out of it, lose an engine no problem in a 727 keeps flying (don't try it at home...LOL...) Also won't be around much longer... Being retired for more fuel efficent less expensive aircraft.

The boeing 727-200 is your best choice. The 737-300 seats were cramped when I flew on Delta, American and US Airways. Fly the 727 while you still can. One of the best aircraft in the whole world. The 727 has it's own staircase front and rear. Thats good for emergencys.

I've flown on both of these jets and let me tell you they are about identical. Body width is the same and the same goes for its seating. I'll take the 727 however. Fly the classic tri-jet while you still can and while they are still around.
About the exits (stated by VirginA340), most 727s have their rear stairs exit deactivated and sealed after the D.B. Cooper incident in the 70's.

Go for the 727. Love those wing flaps! The rear airstairs are deactivated only in flight by means of a spring loaded flapper valve.
This plane is built to withstand anything... except a bad pilot.

It's a question of comfortability, choose the one with a biggest leg room, and that's all. There's no substantial difference between one and other.

Let me say that yours is a silly question.

Would you ask us for your next dinner asking for fish or meat?

727 - no argument, mainly because they won't be around for many more years. I always think advice on seating etc. is pointless as airlines do their own thing on comfort, pitch etc. As an example, one of my most comfortable flights was on a 757 (BA) and one of my most uncomfortable flights was also on a 757 (Britannia).
